How to Set Up IPTV on a MAG Box (2026 Guide)
Have a MAG set-top box? MaxPlayer works on MAG devices through a portal — you point your box to the MaxPlayer portal and your content loads. This guide walks you through the setup and fixes the most common issues.
MaxPlayer is an IPTV player — it plays your own content. It does not include or sell channels, streams or subscriptions. You bring your IPTV playlist (M3U or Xtream Codes) and MaxPlayer plays it.
What you'll need
- A MAG device (MAG 250, 254, 256, 322, 324, 349, 351, 420, 424 or compatible)
- An active internet connection (Ethernet recommended)
- Your IPTV playlist — an M3U URL or Xtream Codes login from your provider
- A MaxPlayer subscription (a 7-day free trial is included)
Step 1 — Register and add your list in the panel
Create a MaxPlayer account (a 7-day free trial is included) and add your IPTV list (M3U URL or Xtream Codes) in the MaxPlayer panel. This is what your MAG box will load through the portal.
Step 2 — Enter the MaxPlayer portal on your MAG
- On your MAG remote, open Settings (System Settings).
- Go to Servers › Portals.
- Set Portal 1 name to "MaxPlayer" and Portal 1 URL to the MaxPlayer portal URL from your account.
- Save and reboot the MAG box.
After the reboot, MaxPlayer loads on your MAG with your channels, VOD, series and EPG.

Troubleshooting
Portal won't load? Re-check the portal URL for typos (a single wrong character stops it), and make sure your MAG has a working internet connection.
No channels after loading? Confirm your IPTV list is added in the MaxPlayer panel and is still active with your provider.
Buffering? MAG boxes are best on a wired connection — use Ethernet for stable 4K, and make sure your provider list is healthy.
