How to Add an M3U or Xtream Codes Playlist in MaxPlayer

Once MaxPlayer is installed, adding your IPTV playlist takes less than a minute. MaxPlayer supports the two most common formats — M3U and Xtream Codes — and you can add up to 5 lists to a single account. Here's how to do both.

MaxPlayer is an IPTV player — it plays your own content. It does not provide channels or playlists. Your provider gives you either an M3U URL or Xtream Codes login; you add it here.

M3U vs. Xtream Codes — what's the difference?

• M3U is a single playlist link (a URL ending in .m3u or .m3u8) that contains your channels. It's simple and works everywhere.
• Xtream Codes uses a server URL plus a username and password. It usually delivers a richer experience — better EPG, categories, VOD and series metadata — because the app talks to the provider's API directly.

If your provider gives you both, Xtream Codes is usually the better choice.

How to add an M3U playlist

1. Open MaxPlayer and go to the list / playlist settings.
2. Choose Add M3U list.
3. Paste your M3U URL exactly as your provider gave it.
4. Give the list a name and save.

Your channels, VOD and series load automatically once the list is processed.

How to add an Xtream Codes playlist

1. Open MaxPlayer and go to the list / playlist settings.
2. Choose Add Xtream Codes.
3. Enter the server URL (host), your username and password.
4. Save — MaxPlayer connects and imports your content.

Managing multiple lists

You can add up to 5 lists per account. Switch the active list in the app settings, or edit the sub-user in the MaxPlayer panel. This is handy if you use more than one provider or want separate lists for different family members.

Troubleshooting

List won't load? Re-check every character of the M3U URL or the Xtream server, username and password — a single typo stops it from connecting.

List loads but no channels? Make sure the list is still active with your provider and hasn't expired.

EPG (TV guide) empty? Some providers deliver EPG separately, and Xtream Codes usually provides better guide data than a plain M3U.
